The CBS is a secondary comprehensive school
with about 600 students aged from 10 to 16. Within our area we closely
cooperate not only with different schools (primary, secondary, vocational), but
also with universities and a multitude of companies. As to the latter our
students usually have work experiences to facilitate their passage from school
into work practice. These work experiences are prepared at school with the help
of qualified teachers and vocational counsellors. We have been involved in the
counselling of our students as to personal, curricular and vocational matters
for long years. We have also planned and realised a lot of international
projects such as Comenius and school exchanges. Therefore we have had various
challenging meetings with students and staff from Italy, UK, Finland, Portugal,
Spain and Czech Republic. We are involved in the European School Network and
are establishing a partnership with a Canadian school this year. In particular
we are deeply concerned with learning from other European countries and
exchanging ideas and good practices on certain common professional topics, such
as teaching methods of foreign languages and mathematics. We also focus on
supporting students with any shortcomings of learning and of integrating. We
are always open to any innovation and advances provided by our Ministry of
Education and suggested by our multiple international links. Moreover we have
been trying to include ICT into professional contexts, as well as the English
language into professional and CLIL contexts. In particular we monitor and
evaluate vocational experiences and we share materials on the matter. We are
highly interested in developing the chances of teacher shadowing and training
classes. The representatives of the local municipality are often invited.
